Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Pakse

Fly into Pakse International Airport in Southern Laos. Meet your guide and check into your hotel. Spend a relaxed afternoon exploring the confluence of the Mekong and Xe Don rivers.

Day 2: Bolaven Plateau & Coffee Farms

Take a day trip to the cooler climes of the Bolaven Plateau. Visit working coffee and tea plantations, interact with local hill tribes, and view the spectacular Tad Fane twin waterfalls.

Day 3: Wat Phou & Drive to 4000 Islands

Drive south to Champasak to explore Wat Phou, an ancient Khmer mountain temple complex that predates Angkor Wat. In the afternoon, continue south to the Mekong river archipelago known as Si Phan Don (4000 Islands) and take a boat to Don Det island.

Day 4: Exploring Si Phan Don

Rent a bicycle to cross the old French railway bridge linking Don Det and Don Khon islands. Visit the powerful Li Phi waterfalls. Later, take a small boat to spot the rare Irrawaddy dolphins near the Cambodian border.

Day 5: Khone Phapheng Falls & Return to Pakse

Return to the mainland and visit Khone Phapheng, the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia. Afterwards, drive back to Pakse for your final night in Laos.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Pakse Airport for your flight to Vientiane, Bangkok, or Ho Chi Minh City.
